In the fall of 2024, the Impact and Prosperity Epicenter — a collaboration between the University of Utah’s Sorenson Impact Institute and the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity — opened at the heart of the bustling University of Utah campus. Designed to be a hub and incubator of global impact innovation, the Epicenter is a place where students, educators, and professionals dedicated to solving the world’s greatest challenges can explore and develop the solutions that will define the next era of human society.
As student life at the Epicenter began to take shape and the Sorenson Impact Institute staff moved into its new headquarters, in February 2025 the Epicenter hosted a grand opening event. As part of the event, and in the first of a series of live conversations hosted by the Institute, the Institute’s CEO Katie Macc interviewed David Bank, founder and editor of ImpactAlpha, the leading publication in the impact industry. In this conversation, Katie and David discuss the state of the impact field, its role in complex global issues, and its future. Watch the conversation below or on Youtube here.
