Ben is a Senior Program Manager on the Impact Finance team. His primary background has been in the energy sector focused on project finance and analytics with experience ranging from utility scale power generation projects to energy efficiency performance contracts with the Federal government. Prior to that, he held positions in securities banking, corporate finance in construction and real estate development, and transfer pricing consulting. Ben obtained his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance and International Business from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and his MBA from The University of Edinburgh (UK). He obtained a graduate certificate in Environmental Policy and International Development from Harvard University Extension school for the purpose of implementing projects and applying capital through an equity lens. He currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization and of Community Energy Project, both in Portland, OR.
His expertise from his project finance experiences is in the building of Excel-based models that suit various purposes and audiences, secondary research, data analysis, evaluating project economics for financial impact and implications, and project due diligence. Skills most often applied are managing processes and engaging stakeholders with an inclusive approach.
