SOCAP Global Announces 2023 Conference Theme and Introduces Content Curation Councils
SAN FRANCISCO – SOCAP Global yesterday announced “Facing Urgency: Impact at the Speed of Trust” as the theme for SOCAP23, along with nine content tracks and three geographical focus tracks for the event. The annual conference will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, October 23 – 25.

SOCAP is the largest, action-oriented gathering where investors, entrepreneurs, and social impact leaders convene to accelerate progress against the world’s toughest challenges through market-based solutions. The annual event is held in partnership with Sorenson Impact Center.

The theme for SOCAP23 reflects the idea that trust is crucial for meaningful, lasting impact. Per the announcement, SOCAP Global is motivated by the idea that, “building trust is an essential part of catalyzing impact. It is the foundation for collaboration, cooperation, and innovation. When people trust each other, they are more likely to work together to create a better world.”

SOCAP23 will be organized along nine content tracks, each with a specific area of focus, including:

  • Climate and Capital
  • Philanthropy as Catalytic Capital
  • Impact Measurement and Management
  • Gender Lens Investing
  • Full Spectrum DEI
  • Community and Economic Development
  • Well-Being for Impact
  • Value Chain Investment
  • Social Entrepreneurship

Attendees can also select content based on the three geographical focus tracks: Latin America, Asia, and Africa.

Announcing the Content Curation Councils for SOCAP23
The 2023 content selection process differs from previous years, moving toward a distributed approach to building conference programming. Sessions within each content track for SOCAP23 will be carefully selected by Content Curation Councils: sets of 3-4 experts in each content track. The Councils will identify sessions to guide conference conversations along each track, deriving community-driven content through the SOCAP Open submission process.

“As SOCAP continues to grow every year, we felt it was important to tap into the collective knowledge of our community,” said Michelle Arevalo-Carpenter, Executive Director leading Strategy and Content at SOCAP Global. “Leveraging SOCAP´s unique network of global experts to help us curate content felt like the right approach for this new stage.”

SOCAP Global announced the names of more than 36 experts from around the world working closely with its content and production teams to deliver a high-quality, representative agenda for this year´s participants.

Registration for SOCAP23 is currently open. Learn more about the event, see updates to content and the agenda, and register at https://socapglobal.com/events/socap23/.
