Sorenson Impact Center and the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business offer a singular opportunity for students to gain experiential education operating one of the world’s largest student-run investment funds. This initiative is called University Venture Fund

Students who participate in the University Venture Fund use their knowledge of impact investing, venture capital, private equity, and entrepreneurship to make sustainable investments in companies in the Intermountain West that have impactful outcomes in their communities.

The UVF provides a world-class education for students while delivering significant financial and social returns for investors. Our students seek enterprises that want to do good while doing well.

Our Challenge

Students at the University of Utah School of Business are studying to be the next generation of financial and business leaders. When the University Venture Fund was first established it was an opportunity for students to participate in an experiential learning program to enrich students' educations.

Our Work

The University Venture Fund has been running as the world's largest student-led venture capital since 2001. As a result many students have graduated with impressive investing experience to kickstart their careers.
